Dr. John Girimonte, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon with more than 20 years’ experience in private practice and hospital-based care. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Rowan University in biological sciences, where he participated in athletic training for the collegiate sports teams.
Dr. Girimonte is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, which is now Temple School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his podiatric surgical residency with rear foot reconstruction at Virtua Health System in Southern New Jersey. As a part of his residency, he participated in a 10-day medical mission performing reconstructive procedures of the lower extremity for children in Guatemala. He is the Director of Podiatric Medical and Surgical Education at the Virtua Health System Foot and Ankle Residency program. He has held this position since 2006.
Dr. Girimonte is proficient in advanced techniques of diabetic wound care, limb salvage, foot and ankle trauma and reconstructions, all aspects of podiatric surgery, and sports medicine. He is affiliated with Virtua Health System hospitals and sees patients with complicated wounds at the Virtua Wound Healing Center.
In his spare time, Dr. Girimonte enjoys coaching girls’ soccer for the Washington Township Soccer Association, as well as participating in men’s softball and hockey. He enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters.
