Ingrown Toenails

Ingrown toenails occur when the corners or sides of the nails grow into the surrounding soft tissue, leading to pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes infection. Common causes include improperly trimmed nails, heredity, shoe pressure, crowding of toes, and repeated trauma to the feet. Symptoms may include pain, redness, swelling, drainage, and prominent skin tissue.
